Chargers Seek Resident Feedback about Possible New Stadium

Tom Fudge: This evening, Chula Vista will have a town hall meeting on the prospect of locating a new Chargers stadium in that community. The meeting takes place at the Chula Vista Civic Center Branch Library at 7 p.m. The KPBS newsroom does plan to cover it, so tune in tomorrow morning to learn more about what happened.

The San Diego Chargers have focused their search for a new local stadium on Chula Vista. A couple of years ago, the City of San Diego was ruled out as a future location for a new Chargers stadium. This was due, primarily, to the city's precarious fiscal condition. Right now, the Chargers are looking at two potential sites in Chula Vista. One is on the waterfront where an old power plant is now located. The other is inland, near route 125.
