Asylum Street Spankers Perform Irreverant Brand of Old-Timey Music
Maureen Cavanaugh (Guest Host): The Texas based band the Asylum Street Spankers began busking the streets of Austin in the early 1990's. Soon after, they took their theatrical performances on the road and developed a cult following. The Spankers are hard to categorize. They play a mix of country, jazz, swing, and tin pan alley. And they give that mix a personal touch with songs nobody else could write.
