The day kicks off with the
Children's Earth Parade
(All Species Welcome), followed by the Cleaner Car Caravan. There are special themed areas and hundreds of exhibitors from conservation organizations, wildlife preservation groups, natural and organically grown products, gardening information, alternative energy vehicles, pet adoption services, clean air and clean water information, and more.
The Children’s Activity Area
features crafts, games, face painting, storytelling, with hands-on activities for children of all ages. The food pavilion offers healthy and vegetarian food and snacks, and five entertainment stages provide musical performances throughout the day.
Getting There:
If you arrive after 10:30 a.m., there is often no parking in or immediately adjacent to the Park. EarthFair organizers offer the following suggestions to avoid traffic frustration:
* Ride a bike. There is free, guarded bike parking available in two locations: on Village Place behind the Natural History Museum and in front of the Museum of Man.
* Take public transportation. There is a trolley stop about a 10 minute walk from the Park.
* A free shuttle service will run from 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. between the Fair and the off-site parking location at City College.
