San Diegans Urged to Conserve Water

The San Diego County Water Authorityis taking its conservation message to radio and TV. The advertising campaign is intended to drive home the message that we live in dry times. KPBS Reporter Ed Joyce has details.

Jenny they have to move, there's not enough water to support them in the county. I know, but halfway across the country? I know. The Peterson's grandkids are moving too. Same reason? Yep, people didn't take the water shortage seriously. Did we, did we do all we could do?

The Water Authority is spending nearly $2 million on the advertising campaign to promote increased voluntary water conservation.

Faced with significant cuts in water supplies from Northern California and low storage in state reservoirs, the "Save It or Lose It" media blitz is the authority's way to make people aware how critical the water shortage is this year.
