Southeast San Diego Neighborhood Embraces "Social Enterprise" to Instill Change
Tom Fudge: Social enterprise is an interesting concept. It's a form of investment where profit isn't entirely the goal. In fact, some people call it "philanthro-capitalism." But enough of the new speak. Let's talk about something happening today in San Diego.
The new Joe and Vi Jacobs Center will be opening at Market Street and Euclid Avenue in City Heights. It's part of the existing Market Creek Plaza . The plaza was developed as a shopping center, but also as a way of bringing investment and entrepreneurship to the neighborhood.
