Lawyer Questions Autopsy of Male Dancer Shot By SD Police

The lawyer representing the family of a San Diego male dancer shot to death by police says the man didn't have illegal drugs or alcohol in his system.

Autopsy results showed Steven Hirschfield had small amounts of methamphetamine and two other narcotics in his blood at the time of the fatal shooting.

Hirschfield family Attorney Brian Claypool says traces of these drugs came from diet pills and cold medicine.

Claypool: There are plenty of drugs out there that you can even buy over the counter that would have methamphetamine in there, in the drug. A lot of pills and nutrients that people use to lose weight, to exercise would yield a positive test result for methamphetamine.

Hirschfield's parents have filed a twenty-million dollar lawsuit against the Harbor Police department.

The Harbor Police Department refused comment, citing pending litigation.
