Fire officials say they have the fire that scorched four thousand acres on Camp Pendleton, 75 percent contained. The blaze led to the evacuation of more than 15-hundred homes in Oceanside. Those people were allowed to return home yesterday. A nearby 110 acre fire that shut down interstate five yesterday is largely out and completely surrounded.
Meanwhile, National Weather Service forecaster Stan Wasowski says the low humidity means the risk of fire remains high. He says warning flags are up.
Wasowski: Red flag is still out until ten pm this evening, then we'll be revising that and probably be bringing that down in most places. It was only in the valleys and mountains to begin with so we'll probably be taking it at least out of the valleys."
Wasowski says the temperature will likely cool off tomorrow and over the weekend. He says there's a chance the dangerous santa anna winds could return next week.
