Scott Sherman isn’t a San Diego native. He moved here with his military family when he was five months old and never looked back. Scott is running for City Council because he’s built his life around our community. He went to high school right here at Patrick Henry. He attended Grossmont Community College. His small business is here. He and his wife Norma own a home and raised their family here. Scott believes that good people with good ideas can turn city hall around.
Scott has never held elected office before. Instead of climbing the political ladder he’s spent the last few decades building a small business. An insurance provider, Scott has deep roots providing peace of mind to families and businesses in our community. His hard work and perseverance over the years has helped him provide real jobs to more than two dozen hard working San Diegans. Scott thinks City Hall could use a little common sense from someone with real world experience.
Scott has been active in our city’s charitable community, particularly focusing on those institutions that focus on children: the Make A Wish Foundation, the YMCA, the Burn Institute, and the Children’s Convalescent Hospital. Scott also helps with the Wounded Warriors, an organization that provides unique programs to injured service members returning from conflict overseas.
Scott is running to bring accountability back to City Hall. He supports Comprehensive Pension Reform and will work to make sure San Diego has the resources to fully fund our public safety, roads, parks, and libraries. Scott will take a businessman’s eye to the budget, reducing waste and implementing managed competition. Immediately upon taking office he will be offering a package of regulatory reforms to make it easier for San Diegans to open new small businesses, or grow.
Scott and his wife, Norma Mouet, live in the Allied Gardens area near the house where he grew up. Last year Scott was honored locally as San Diego’s Insurance Agent of the Year.
