Relief at the gas pump

In San Diego, gas prices have dropped nearly 20 cents per gallon in the past month. The trend is expected to continue through the busy Thanksgiving travel period. Changes in the international oil market are contributing to the relief being passed on to drivers.

Uber launches rewards program in San Diego

San Diego is one of several markets where Uber is rolling out a new customer loyalty program. Those who regularly use the ride-hailing service will be eligible for upgrades and discounts on the platform. Lyft, a major competitor to Uber, launched a similar rewards program in recent days.

Amazon announces locations for new headquarters

New York City and suburban Washington, D.C. landed the next major bases of operation for Amazon, which the company is calling HQ2. The two locations will split what was originally intended to be a single headquarters. Local governments have promised Amazon tax breaks and other incentives in exchange for the influx of new jobs.
