Nearly 30 years after KPBS rolled out its iconic four-color logo, the public media station unveiled a new logo on Monday.

The logo is designed to be a visual representation of KPBS’ role in driving conversation in the many communities it serves in San Diego.

"KPBS' old logo dates back to 1991 — when there was analog TV and radio. Fast forward to 2019 and there is 4K TV, social media and countless digital platforms that feature KPBS content,” said Nancy Worlie, KPBS's associate general manager of content and communications.

“Our new logo needed to be digital friendly and stand out on TV, in print and on social media. We selected this logo because it's clean and looks more contemporary."

This is KPBS's seventh logo in the station's 58-year history.
