Inspector Morse is a character from the detective novels by British author Colin Dexter. John Thaw stars as this most unlikely detective in the massively popular, award-winning television series of murder mysteries. Inspector Morse is a gentle romantic, out of shape, craving good beer, classical music, and difficult crossword puzzles. But aided by trusted sidekick Sergeant Lewis (Kevin Whately), Morse still gets the job done.

Widely acclaimed by critics, the series attracts millions of viewers worldwide. Oxford's most famous export, the unique character of Inspector Endeavour Morse, has proven to be one of the world's most popular detective dramas.

"The Day Of The Devil," Parts One & Two air Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 9 p.m. & 10 p.m. - In these episodes, John Barie, a serial rapist and Satanist, escapes from a mental hospital and demands that his therapist be turned over to him. A master of disguise, Barrie sets up an elaborate and deadly battle of wits with Morse.
