The 13-part reality series affords viewers a firsthand look at the complex product development process through the eyes of an expert team of industrial designers and engineers, marketing and branding pros, web designers and salespeople. In season four, the inventions range from a retractable dog-leash system and a carpet-stain extractor to a prosthetic hand and a novel solar technology application.
"Who Let The Dogs Out?!" - In this fun-filled episode, we will meet dogs…lots of dogs…and take a lot of walks. When inventor, Brian Smith, was walking his dogs, Teddy and Taz, his arm was almost jerked off when one of them saw his feline nemesis.
At that moment, he decided something had to be done...for both he and for his dog, Taz, whose neck was hurt during the chase was a big concern and expense.
Research began and Brian’s short walk became a long journey to find a way to control the speed at which retractable leashes hold back your cagey canine.
Our engineers had a challenge on their hands – in their hands – to come up with a totally new brake system that dogs and dog owners could embrace. We may let the dogs out in this episode, but let’s see if Brian Smith’s new leash can get ‘em back.
