Blue Star Families is launching a program Friday that allows members of the military, their families, and veterans a chance to catch a play or musical at their local theaters for free (or at a discounted rate). Almost two dozen theaters across the country have already signed on to participate in the Blue Star Theatres program.
Theatre Communications Group executive director Teresa Eyring said of the new program:
“Theatre has the power to deepen communal connection and inspire creative expression. It can provide an invaluable means of integrating military families into our communities, while helping us process the consequences of these long years of war.”
