THE TUNNEL is set against the backdrop of Europe in crisis.
When a prominent French politician is found dead on the border between the U.K. and France, detectives Karl Roebuck (Stephen Dillane, GAME OF THRONES) and Elise Wassermann (Clémence Poésy, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II") are sent to investigate on behalf of their respective countries.
The case takes a surreal turn when a shocking discovery is made at the crime scene, forcing the French and British police into an uneasy partnership.
As the serial killer uses ever more elaborate and ingenious methods to highlight the moral bankruptcy of modern society, Karl and Elise are drawn deeper into his increasingly personal agenda.

Episode 1 repeats Friday, Dec. 30 at 10 p.m. - Inside the Channel Tunnel, on the borderline between Britain and France, the body of a woman is discovered. As the corpse is lifted, it becomes clear that this is no ordinary murder. A thrilling and complex cross-Channel investigation ensues.
Episode 2 repeats Friday, Jan. 6 at 10 p.m. - The killer claims to highlight the ills of contemporary European society as his second “truth” unfolds. An enigmatic hosteler crosses the paths of Karl and Elise once more. Are they any closer to an answer?
Episode 3 repeats Friday, Jan. 13 at 10 p.m. - The serial killer steps up his cross-Channel campaign, targeting an elderly victim in his “moral” crusade. The race is on for police in Britain and France to identify and capture the murderer before more lives are brutally lost.
Episode 4 repeats Friday, Jan. 20 at 10 p.m. - Detectives battle to locate an elderly soldier before he freezes to death. In the meantime, is naïve teenager Sophie safe lodging with seemingly harmless Benji?
Episode 5 repeats Friday, Jan. 27 at 10 p.m. - The “Truth Terrorist’s” third “truth” begins as Benji carries out his Samurai mission. Sophie’s life is now at stake and police believe they can use her to stop the terrorist’s rampage. Karl gets more than he bargained for while visiting Charlotte.
Episode 6 repeats Friday, Feb. 3 at 10 p.m. - As youths are burnt alive, police suspect the hand of the Truth Terrorist once more. They finally make a key arrest. Will this be the end of the killings?
Episode 7 repeats Friday, Feb. 10 at 10 p.m. - Police think they may finally have a lead, as the serial killer’s actions escalate in his fifth and final “truth.” Karl and Laura’s relationship takes another turn as Laura steps up her flirtations with another man.
Episode 8 repeats Friday, Feb 17 at 10 p.m. - French police capture but then lose the prime suspect. Then, their lead detective goes missing. Though things eventually start to fall into place, something is troubling Karl.
Episode 9 repeats Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 p.m. - Things take a nasty turn for Karl as police get within a hair’s breadth of catching the killer. Will they be in time?
Episode 10 repeats Friday, March 3 at 10 p.m. - Karl falls apart as the Truth Terrorist’s change of direction becomes unbearable. What will be the cost of catching their man? A hair-raising showdown begins.
