The program takes viewers behind the scenes to learn about the work and process that go into making a ballet great, and features stunning performances of five unique dance pieces: Alexei Ratmanskyโs retake of โThe Nutcracker,โ Leonid Lavrovskyโs ground-breaking โRomeo & Juliet,โ Lar Lubovitchโs powerful โOthello,โ Alastair Marriottโs hauntingly beautiful โLiederand,โ and Yuri Possikhovโs โDiving Into the Lilacs.โ
With stops at the American Ballet Theatre, the Bolshoi Ballet, the San Francisco Ballet and the Royal Ballet, the program reveals the inspiration behind the creation of each work, and how the choreographers and dancers work together to bring these ballets to life.
