The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell under $4 for the first time since Aug. 10, dropping 1.7 cents to $3.988.
The average price has decreased for 27 consecutive days, falling 73.7 cents over that span, including 2.7 cents on Saturday, after rising 54.7 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.725 on Oct. 8, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 20.3 cents less than one week ago and 34 cents lower than one month ago but 13.5 cents higher than one year ago.
