A search committee formed to find a replacement for retiring San Diego State University President Stephen Weber will meet for the first time today, and it will be the only such meeting open to the public.
The committee consists of trustees of the California State University system, working with an advisory group that includes a student, faculty members and an alumnus.
Committee members at the first gathering will discuss their preferred attributes for a new school president, set a schedule of meetings and review a description of the job Weber has held for 15 years.
The search process is expected to conclude in May with the selection of a new president.
The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center on campus.
