A low pressure system will bring strong winds through San Diego's mountains and deserts Wednesday afternoon and night, the National Weather Service said.
Winds speeds of 25 mph to 40 mph are expected to sweep through the area, with gusts of 55 mph to 65 mph. The strongest winds are expected along ridge tops and desert slopes.
The service warned the windy weather could make driving difficult and urged motorists to keep an eye out for broken tree limbs and downed power lines.
According to the weather service, sustained wind speeds of 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph can cause property damage.
Winds will decrease Thursday morning, but the high wind warning is in effect until 3 a.m.
