A wind advisory was in effect in the valleys and mountains of San Diego County early Friday, along with a frost advisory in the valleys.
The National Weather Service issued the wind advisory for the valleys and mountains from 4 a.m. Friday to noon Saturday, saying sustained northeast winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour and gusts up to 45 mph were likely.
"The winds will make driving difficult, especially for motorists with high profile vehicles," the weather service said. "Watch for broken tree limbs and other debris."
The frost advisory for valley areas was scheduled to expire at 8 a.m. but would followed by a second frost advisory later Friday night, the weather service said. The agency issued the second advisory from 9 p.m. Friday night to 9 a.m. Saturday.
Temperatures fell into the lower to mid-30s in colder, wind sheltered areas early Friday, and were likely to dip into the upper 20s to mid-30s late Friday night into early Saturday, the weather service said.
At 12 a.m. Saturday, a frost advisory was also scheduled in the county's entire coast line, though the area most likely to be affect was from Highway 78 north to Camp Pendleton, according to the weather service, which said the coastal frost advisory would expire at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Also, frost advisories for desert areas were scheduled from 3 to 7 a.m. Saturday and 12 to 8 a.m. Sunday.
