White House adviser Stephen Miller is in the hot seat after receiving calls from Democrats to resign following a leak of controversial emails. Last week, The Southern Poverty Law Center released emails reportedly sent by Miller to a former writer at Breitbart. The organization says those emails show Miller promoted white nationalist ideas including extremely restrictive immigration policies. Roundtable takes an in-depth look at what those emails consist of, and what it means for Miller’s future in the Trump Administration.

San Diego County inmate deaths

15 inmates have died in San Diego County jails so far this year. The latest, a 24-year-old woman named Elisa Serna who died last week, according to an investigation by The San Diego Union-Tribune. While the official cause of death has not been released, records reflect a disturbing trend among the number of inmate deaths within our local jail system. The San Diego Union-Tribune also found San Diego County has the “highest mortality rate by far among California’s largest county jails.” Roundtable further examines the issue.

Mission Valley stadium update

San Diego State University is one step closer to securing the Mission Valley stadium site. On Monday, the San Diego City Council unanimously agreed to move forward with SDSU’s purchasing offer of $86.2 million. Hear more about where the long-awaited redevelopment plan goes from here.
