San Diego County has gotten a new allocation of more than 300,000 doses of swine flu vaccine from the state health department.
Last week the county health department announced it had run out of H1N1 vaccine to supply its public clinics and school-based immunization programs. And the local supply of vaccine has been running thin. But Karen Waters-Montijo with the county health department, said San Diego has gotten a new allotment from the state.
"San Diego has been allocated approximately another 369,000 doses of vaccine," she said, "and we are expecting there will be new doses coming into the county within the next two weeks."
San Diego has already received more than 500,000 doses of H1N1 vaccine, which has been shared by public and private clinics around the county. Waters says the new allotment will arrive over the next two months and it should last until the end of January.
