David Peters, a marriage and family therapist who has a practice in San Diego, joined Midday Edition on Tuesday with advice on how to stay calm during these uncertain times.

In a matter of days, life as we know it changed drastically.

While some may be working from home, others may be out of work. Schools have been shut down and children are at home. Social events have been canceled. Libraries, arts institutions and many restaurants have also closed.

The stress of all of these changes and worries over coronavirus can take a toll on our mental health.
