San Diego State University, a national leader in serving student veterans, has already been recognized by Military Times Edge as the 30th best university in the country for veterans. And tomorrow, Nov. 4, just two years after opening its first veterans center on campus, the university is dedicating its new Veterans Center. From the SDSU blog today:

SDSU spokesperson Gina Jacobs says the Post-9/11 GI Bill has spurred growth in the veteran population at SDSU, and It's expected the number of veterans on campus will continue to grow and the new center will help to accommodate their needs ' as well as the needs of their families - by providing more staff, a conference room, a veterans lounge and more workspace for Veterans Administration work study students.

Student veterans, active duty military and SDSU faculty and staff will dedicate the new center in the new Ambassador Charles Hostler Conference Room at 10 a.m. The location of the center is Student Services West, Rm.1575 (next to the book store). Here's a map. Speakers will include SDSU President Stephen L. Weber, Bucky Peterson, USMC (Ret.) and Special Assistant to the CSU Chancellor, Sandra Cook, Assistant Vice President, Academic Affairs, and Ericka Korb, Student Veteran Organization President To contact center email veterans@sdsu.edu or call (619) 594-5813.
