Mackenzie Frost lost her father at an age when most kids' biggest concern is trying not to color outside the lines. U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Christopher Frost was killed in Iraq when his helicopter crashed back in 2008. Mackenzie was just 5-years-old. According to an article in the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel, Mackenzie had been able to endure her father's deployment in Iraq by sending him care packages filled with Girl Scout Cookies, one of her dad's favorite treats.
Now all of 8-years-old, Mackenzie is a Brownie in the Girl Scouts, Waukesha Brownie Troop 2653. While selling cookies, she convinced many of her customers to donate boxes to the troops. She collected almost 600 boxes, which were mailed to Iraq along with a letter from Mackenzie:
To say thank you for the cookies, servicemembers sent Mackenzie her own care package with the American flag flown in her father's memory in Iraq and a special video message from Lt. Gen. Frank Helmick, deputy commander of U.S. forces in Iraq.
Wisconsin television station Fox6 has a touching video piece on Mackenzie:
