Either the USS Ronald Reagan or the USS Carl Vinson will host a special Veteran's Day basketball game in San Diego Bay between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Michigan State Spartans. And while tickets to the game will NOT go on sale to the public, game organizers will hand out tickets to 4000 members of the military, according to USA Today.
ESPN reports NBA basketball greats Michael Jordan (former Tar Heel), and Magic Johnson (Michigan State alum) will be honorary team captains at the game. The event's organizer, Mike Whalen of Morale Entertainment Foundation, told ESPN he's been in talks with the Navy, and he expects either the USS Ronald Reagan or the USS Carl Vinson will play host to the event.
Whalen, a former Marine, says of the game:
