The 13-year-old daughter of a Camp Pendleton Marine was killed this morning when the family's house caught fire. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports the single-family home was located in the in the O'Neill Heights military housing area.
Base spokesman Sgt. John Jackson told the U-T the fire started around 6:30 this morning. The blaze also sent a Camp Pendleton firefighter to the hospital with burns and smoke inhalation injuries.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the girl or her family. Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
