A 33-year-old Navy SEAL on leave in Bali, Indonesia died in a motorcycle crash there October 12, according to the Department of Defense. The public affairs office of Naval Special Warfare Group ONE reports Special Warfare Operator Chief Petty Officer Michael R. Tatham was on deployment in Afghanistan when he went on leave to Bali.
Capt. Collin Green, Commander of Naval Special Warfare Group ONE, said of Tatham:
During his service as a SEAL, Tatham received several awards, including the Bronze Star and the National Defense Service Medal.
Tatham is survived by his parents and younger brother.
