The Camp Pendleton Marine accused of killing 22-year-old Brittany Killgore pleaded not guilty today to charges of first-degree murder.
The U-T San Diego reports Staff Sgt. Louis Ray Perez, 45, entered his plea during his arraignment today in Vista Superior Court.
In court today, prosecutors laid out additional details about Killgore's disappearance that had been previously unknown to the public, according to San Diego television station 10News:
[Deputy District Attorney] Patrick Espinoza said Killgore sent a friend a text that said "help" while she was with the Marine. Espinoza also said that Killgore's blood and a weapon believed to be used on her were found in Perez' vehicle.
Prosecutors have not yet said how Killgore was killed.
Jessica Lynn Lopez, 25, was arrested on April 17 for the murder of Killgore. Lopez lived with Perez and another woman in Fallbrook. Lopez has also pleaded not guilty on first-degree murder charges.
Killgore's grandmother told a Missouri newspaper her granddaughter had plans to attend a dinner cruise with Perez on April 13, the last night she was seen alive.
