The Navy has relieved Cmdr. Edward White of his duties as commanding officer of Strike Fighter Squadron 106 for allegedly carrying on an extramarital affair with a civilian employee of the Navy.

According to Naval Air Force Atlantic Public Affairs, Rear Adm. Michael Shoemaker fired White...

...due to loss of confidence in his ability to command following the preliminary findings of an on-going command investigation into an alleged inappropriate relationship with a female Department of the Navy civilian employee.

Naval Air Force Atlantic spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Mike Kafka told The Navy Times the civilian employee with whom White was allegedly having an affair was not within his chain of command.
