Veterans Day Means Many San Diego Offices Are Closed Monday

Courts and all San Diego city, county and state offices will be closed in observance of Veterans Day on Monday.

Libraries, recreation centers and pools in San Diego will be closed.

The Torrey Pines, Balboa Park and Mission Bay municipal golf courses will be open, but holiday rates will apply.

San Diego County branch libraries will be closed.

County parks will be open.

There will be no mail delivery.

Metropolitan Transit Service (MTS) buses and trolley will be operating on a regular weekday service schedule.

Because Veterans Day is a federal holiday, banks will be closed.

Garbage and recycling collection service in the city of San Diego will be conducted on its normal schedule.

President Dwight Eisenhower dedicated Nov. 11 as Veterans Day in 1954 to be observed nationwide as a national holiday honoring the contributions of all veterans from every branch of the Armed Services.
