Three of the four Navy SEALs injured in South Sudan when their aircraft was attacked by gunfire on Dec. 21 are back in the United States receiving medical care.
The fourth SEAL is still hospitalized at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.
Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren told Stars and Stripes that while the SEAL still at Landstuhl is in the intensive care unit, all four SEALs are in stable condition.
As Home Post previously reported, the SEALs were in three CV-22 Ospreys approaching the South Sudan city of Bor when their aircraft was attacked by small arms fire.
The SEALs were on a mission to evacuate American citizens who had become trapped in Bor as fighting between two ethnic groups heated up.
About 380 of those U.S. citizens were later flown out of Bor to safer locations on chartered flights and military aircraft.
