Two sailors at Naval Base Point Loma are in custody Thursday after a report of suspicious behavior led to a partial lock down of the base.
The two sailors reportedly were shooting Airsoft pellet pistols from their barracks window at a mirror on the wall of a nearby parking structure.

A call to Navy police dispatch shortly after 10 a.m. led to Naval Base Point Loma security forces, Naval Criminal Investigation Service, FBI SWAT and San Diego police swarming the base in a "potential active shooter situation," according to a Navy statement.
The two sailors were contacted by NCIS and their command master chief by cell phone and "given explicit directions" from NCIS on how to surrender to police. The pair was taken into custody without incident.
"The safety and security of our personnel and resources are our primary concerns," said Capt. Scott Adams, the base's commanding officer. "The multiagency task force performed flawlessly. The situation ended without incident."
According to its website, Naval Base Point Loma's current major tenant commands include "Commander Third Fleet, Naval Mine and Anti Submarine Warfare Command, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), SPAWAR Systems Center, Fleet Intelligence Training Center Pacific, Tactical Training Group Pacific, Submarine Squadron ELEVEN, Commander Sealift Logistics Command Pacific, Submarine Training Center Pacific Detachment, seven submarines, a floating dry dock (ARCO), and the Navy's Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Department (SARD)."
