The U.S. Coast Guard has resumed a search for a cruise ship passenger believed to have disappeared somewhere between Mexico's Baja California coast and San Diego.
Petty Officer 1st Class Allyson Conroy says a Coast Guard helicopter took off at 7 a.m. Wednesday from San Diego and a C-130 aircraft departed Sacramento to search the Pacific between Ensenada, Mexico, and Southern California.
The missing passenger is a 65-year-old woman whose name has not been released. She did not show up for a customs check when the cruise ship Celebrity Millennium docked in San Diego around 1 p.m. Tuesday.
It was the first U.S. port of call after the ship stopped in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The cruise began in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and is destined for Vancouver, British Columbia.
