Cal Fire crews will conduct a prescribed burn in the East County today to get rid of brush that could feed a wildfire.
The prescribed burn will take place from around 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. southwest of Pine Valley, according to Cal Fire Capt. Mike Mohler.
About 200 acres will be burned over the next few days as crews conduct daily prescribed burns in the area through Saturday, he said.
Smoke was expected to be visible in many areas of the county.
