Authorities say they've dismantled a drug-and-gun trafficking ring in San Diego County, arresting three dozen people and seizing 60 weapons, including assault rifles.
City News Service says results of a two-year investigation dubbed "Crystal Palace" were announced Tuesday.
A coalition of local, state and federal agents targeted reputed local gang members or affiliates. The items seized included Uzi submachine guns, AR-15 rifles, 4,000 rounds of ammunition and body armor.
The operation is the latest of several crackdowns on San Diego County street gangs. Authorities say 119 defendants have been charged in federal gang prosecutions since January, with 79 guilty pleas so far.
