A multiple-vehicle crash Tuesday on a freeway transition road in Mission Valley tied up traffic and sent a person to a hospital, authorities said.
The crash, which involved a bus and several other vehicles, was reported shortly before 5:30 a.m. on the transition from southbound Interstate 805 to Interstate 8, according to the California Highway Patrol and fire officials. It closed the on-ramp from I-805 South to I-8. As of 6:20 a.m., authorities were letting traffic on the I-8 West connector. The on-ramp from I-805 South to I-8 was reopened to traffic as of 7:49 a.m.
The wrecked vehicles were blocking the transition road's lanes and authorities issued a SigAlert, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One person was hospitalized following the crash, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.
