EGGstravaganza
The City of Carlsbad’s popular EGGstravaganza Spring Festival returns. This annual spring event features Carlsbad’s largest egg hunt, an ongoing egg scramble where kids race to collect candy-filled eggs. Don't forget to bring your basket! Face-painting, crafts, cookie decorating, a fun zone, soak the bunny and more. Food and beverages are available for purchase. Activity cards and wristbands can be purchased in advance or at the event to enjoy the activities and fun zone. No registration is needed to attend this event. How the egg scramble works The egg scramble is ongoing from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or until eggs run out. To keep the scramble fun for all ages, one field will be designated for children ages 6 and over who want to race for their eggs, and an identical one will be for children ages 5 and under. There is also a noncompetitive field for young children, children with special needs, and for families wanting to pose for a photo opportunity. An activity card is required to participate in the egg scramble. To avoid lines during the event, $8 activity cards and $8 unlimited inflatables wristbands can be purchased three weeks in advance at city community centers. The cards can be divided among multiple children for all the activities; however, wristbands are per person. Both can be purchased at these locations Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Calavera Hills Community Center, 2997 Glasgow Drive Stagecoach Community Center, 3420 Camino de los Coches Alga Norte Aquatics Center, 6565 Alicante Road Pine Avenue Community Center, 3209 Harding St. Event may modify or cancel due to inclement weather.

A Night of Neil Diamond and Linda Ronstadt
Step into an unforgettable evening celebrating the life, music and legacy of one of America’s most beloved songwriters—Neil Diamond. A Night of Neil (and Linda) is more than a tribute concert; it’s a rich, story-driven journey through the songs that defined a generation and continue to resonate today. From his early days as a struggling songwriter to his chart-topping reign of the ’70s and ’80s, Neil Diamond’s music has touched millions. Master performer and storyteller Scott Samuels, backed by his acclaimed band Solitary Diamonds, brings stunning sonic accuracy and heartfelt narration to Neil’s greatest hits—capturing not just the sound, but the soul behind the songs. You’ll hear iconic classics alongside fan favorites Neil wrote for other legendary artists, including The Monkees, Lulu, and Barbra Streisand, revealing the breadth of his influence across pop music history. The evening also features a special tribute to the musical connection between Neil Diamond and Linda Ronstadt, with chart-topping early hits from Linda’s career beautifully performed by Solitary Diamonds’ own Penni Hawkins—adding depth, contrast, and a powerful female voice to the story. Scott Samuels’ journey to this role is as compelling as the music itself. A lifelong performer with roots in power-pop, singer-songwriting, and award-nominated bands, Samuels discovered his uncanny Neil Diamond vocal resemblance in 2017—sparking the creation of Solitary Diamonds. Since then, the band has delivered years of sold-out performances and standing ovations. This is not just a concert—it’s a heartfelt celebration of songwriting, storytelling, and timeless American music. Come sing along, reminisce, and experience the songs that made Neil Diamond—and Linda Ronstadt—enduring icons. The Bornemann on Facebook / Instagram
