We welcome you and your family & friends to join us as we honor the rich traditions and share in the experience of Día de los Muertos on Sunday, November 2 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Dorothea Laub Building in the Arts District of Liberty Station located in Point Loma! Rooted in community, family, and remembrance, this event creates a heart-centered and safe space for all ages to honor their loved ones—both people and animals—who have passed. Through music, art, hands-on and interactive activities, we invite families to learn, create, and celebrate together. This is a non-scary, family-friendly gathering designed to foster cultural awareness, connection, and joy while celebrating the traditions of Día de los Muertos in our community. We’ll be decorating calavera (skull) cookies in the morning. Then, we’ll enjoy music making and festivities before a procession set to begin at 2 p.m. Join us as we walk together through the Dorothea Laub and Dance Place Buildings. We’ll enjoy the art, music making, and handmade shrines made by local community members and students! Festivities and open house will run until 5 p.m. Specific activities will be available only as long as supplies last. We hope to see you and your loved ones there! The HOWL-oween Mutt March is a family- and pet-friendly Halloween fundraiser benefiting Lionel’s Legacy, a 501(c)3 senior dog rescue creating a legacy of compassion and care for people and pets in our community. We hope you will join in on the fun! What to expect at the HOWL-oween Mutt March: - Costumed walk around the lake on the Trick-or-Treat Trail - Trick-or-treating for pets and kids - Music, activities & entertainment for the family - Costume and fundraising contests with amazing prizes - Giveaways and adoptable senior dogs - Swag bags for registered paw-ticipants Our goal is to raise $20,000 through this event! - $10,000 for our Keeping Pets Home Fund – supporting up to 25 families with vet care, food, and emergency resources. - $10,000 to rescue and care for over 60 senior dogs – covering exams, dental work, medications, diagnostics, and surgeries.
