  • Veterinary Specialty Hospital, in partnership with Pearl Street Pet Hospital and the San Diego Blood Bank, will host a community blood drive on Friday, March 14, bringing together human and veterinary blood donation efforts in one event. The blood drive will take place at Pearl Street Pet Hospital and offers community members the opportunity to donate blood through the San Diego Blood Bank while also learning how dogs and cats can become lifesaving blood donors through the VSH Blood Donor Program. Blood donations are critical for emergency care, surgery, trauma, and serious illness for both people and pets. By hosting a combined human and pet blood drive, the event highlights the shared importance of blood donation across medical and veterinary care. Community involvement helps ensure hospitals have access to vital blood resources when emergencies arise. The event is open to the public and designed to make participation easy, educational, and impactful. Additional community partners are supporting the event to help expand awareness and participation.
