Created by and for South County residents, Suncoast Market Co-op is a community-owned grocery store. They are opening with a “hybrid” store model, intentionally combining natural, organic, local, and specialty foods with mainstream, value-priced staples and culturally specific products from many traditions. SunCoast will also offer great fresh produce, bulk, bakery, deli grab and go items, a hot food bar and salad bar. "Veterans History Project II: The Journey Continues" is a public oral history event dedicated to honoring and preserving the lived experiences of U.S. military veterans from San Diego County. Taking place on April 8, 2026, at California State University San Marcos, the event will feature highlights from recorded veteran oral histories, community recognition, and reflections on the importance of documenting veterans’ stories with care, dignity, and permanence. The program builds on the success of the original Veterans History Project and continues an ongoing effort to ensure that veterans’ voices are recorded, respected, and archived for future generations. Attendees will include veterans, students, educators, civic leaders, and community members. The evening will include a community reception, featured speakers, and a highlight presentation showcasing oral histories from local San Diego County veterans, produced in collaboration with the CSUSM Library Special Collections Department. This inaugural championship brings together 24 finalists from UESL programs across San Diego and Imperial Counties, all competing for team honors and individual first-, second-, and third-place recognition. These players have trained, collaborated, and grown together through UESL’s inclusive, skill-building esports programs—and now they take center stage. More than a competition, this event is a celebration of community, teamwork, and the power of positive gaming. UESL and TERI share a mission to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through meaningful experiences that foster confidence, friendship, and real-world skills.
