  • "Threshold Encounter": A Guided Waking-Dream Lab "Threshold Encounter" is an after-dark guided arts experience using personal objects, lantern light, low sound, gentle movement, and the architecture of the room. Participants gather first by lantern light, then enter the larger space together. Through simple guided actions — listening, moving, arranging, noticing, and crossing — the group creates a shared threshold environment: a place where ordinary objects and spaces can begin to feel more charged, intimate, and alive than usual. This is not a performance, class, or therapy session. There is nothing to perform, explain, or get right. The experience is quiet, embodied, and participatory, designed for people curious about dreams, ritual, immersive art, symbolic encounter, personal transition, and the hidden life of ordinary things. Participants should bring 3–5 small objects or physical images from home — simple things that feel meaningful, curious, or charged when held. No art, theatre, meditation, or spiritual background is needed. Details: • 90 minutes, intentionally held after dark • 18+ • Limited capacity • Low light, ambient sound, gentle movement, and periods of silence • No performance required • Sharing afterward is optional • Please arrive 10 minutes early • Participants are asked not to take photos or videos during the lab This is the first in-person "Threshold Encounter" series at Expressive Arts @ 32nd & Thorn, with sessions on May 15, June 5, and June 19. May 15 is a pilot event and is pay-what-you-can, $25 suggested. June 5 and June 19 tickets are available at $20 (Community), $25 (Standard), $35 (Supporter). Tickets must be purchased online through Eventbrite. Capacity is limited. Geoffrey Schön | Depth Immersion Theatre on Instagram

  • We climb in memory of and to honor the 343 FDNY Brothers, 23 NYPD Brothers and Sisters, and 37 Port Authority Brothers and Sisters who gave their lives on 9/11/01. Their sacrifice, courage, and service continue to inspire generations of first responders. Through this climb, we also recognize the sacrifices made by firefighters everywhere and reaffirm our commitment to supporting those who serve our communities. Funds raised will benefit FirefighterAid, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides charitable assistance to San Diego County firefighters and their families in times of crisis and promotes awareness of firefighter health and safety issues and the impacts they have on their families and communities. 25 years later, we climb to ensure their legacy lives on and that we never forget. Everyone is welcome to participate as a climber, volunteer, or spectator at this free community event. Registration fees apply to climbers. San Diego 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Facebook
