This vibrant, hands-on experience takes place at our new nature learning center in the heart of the valley. Add your artistic touch and help create a beautiful, welcoming space where thousands of students, residents, and visitors will begin their journey exploring the San Diego River. "HEARTMOOR" is a dark romantic opera that blends raw performance, dance, multimedia, music, singing, absurdist theater, and pop into a hallucinatory sensory experience. Performed in both English and Spanish, the work moves through fairy-tale and telenovela logic while exploring love, desire, revenge, guilt, transformation, and queer becoming through nonlinear storytelling and surreal imagery. Part irreverent comedy and part reflective drama, "HEARTMOOR" creates a dreamlike world that draws from performance art, video art, improvisational dance, and experimental theater while remaining deeply rooted in border culture and personal mythology. This special production of "HEARTMOOR" features collaborations with distinguished guest artists whose work has helped shape San Diego's contemporary theater and dance landscape. His 2026 album “Separated” deals with the Death of God. Not as angsty middle fingers to the big man, but as experiencing the loss of both a life long best friend and as a structure of meaning. He loves his wife, Rachel, his dogs, psychoanalysis, and teaching guitar. Joy Fuliga: Fil-Am acoustic singer-songwriter based in San Diego, writing sad melodies in an attempt to ease the mind and heal the heart. Lyrics explore topics of mental health, culture, identity, and community. Aly Rowell: Aly Rowell is a writer and folk musician based in San Diego, CA. Her forthcoming full length record, "Where It All Goes," will be released in October 2026. David Liestman: David Liestman is a songwriter, poet, and stuttterer. He writes about grief and analog art making. David is studying writing at pratt institute in new york city, and is currently fascinated by cats and palm trees.

Following the Spirit of Stonewall Rally, continue the celebration with San Diego Pride and The Brass Rail at the kickoff of the Arko Park Pride Block Party. Named after Lou Arko, a businessman who in 1957, purchased the downtown venue and transformed it into a welcoming, safe space for the queer community! This free community event launches Pride Weekend in Hillcrest with live DJs, dancing, and a cash bar. Located across from The Brass Rail, the festivities take place from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. and offer the perfect opportunity to celebrate queer joy and kick off an unforgettable Pride weekend.
