More than 10,000 attendees are expected for this year's milestone event, which spans several blocks and transforms Encinitas into a vibrant open-air festival celebrating both the city's German roots and its eclectic surf-town personality. In this 2-hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics of needle-felted painting by layering colored wool on the wings of your precut butterfly shape using special needles. Because the needles are quite pointed, this class is open to students aged 12 and up — protective guards will be on hand to keep fingers safe. When you’re done, take it home as a wearable brooch or a charming piece of wall art. No prior experience needed. All are welcome, ages 12 and older.
