Work on Balboa Avenue follows the completion of an asphalt overlay project on Convoy Street and recent repaving on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.

Excessive heat warnings have been issued Friday for San Diego County deserts where dangerously hot conditions are in the forecast.

On Monday, the council said it wants more specifics on proposed lease terms.

The item had been proposed by Council President Sean Elo-Rivera in what he said was an effort to make meetings run more efficiently and with more civil discourse. Various groups protested the item, which was pulled during the meeting.

A heat advisory is in effect in the mountain communities of Pine Valley and Julian until 10 p.m. Thursday.

The blaze broke out about 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the Sunshine Summit area.

The proposed law, SB 554, is titled “Safety Before Criminal Sanctuary,” and is a direct response to a policy passed by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors last December.

The two occupants of the aircraft have been rescued and transported to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest for evaluations.

A dense fog advisory was issued by the National Weather Service for San Diego County's coastal areas until 10 a.m. Friday.
