The three U.S. soldiers killed Tuesday in Afghanistan by a suicide bomber riding a donkey have been identified as 1st Lt. Jonam Russell, 25, of Cornville, Arizona; Sgt. Stefan M. Smith, 24 of Glennville, Georgia; and Spc. Rob L. Nichols, 24, of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The non-combat related death of Army Spc. Anthony R. Maddox, 22, is under investigation. Maddox died July 22 in a military hospital in Landstuhl, Germany from injuries related to an incident in Andar, Afghanistan.
