New State Board of Education president discusses priorities

We talk with Oceanside Superintendent Ken Noonan, who was recently appointed president of the State Board of Education.

In California, the State Board of Education is charged with overseeing what’s taught in public classrooms.  It’s a huge responsibility and at times, the board’s decisions are controversial.  Now a local school administrator will be taking the heat - and the praise - as the new president of the California State Board Of Education.  He’s Ken Noonan  who also is superintendent of the Oceanside Unified School District. Reporter Heather Hill spoke with Ken Noonan about his priorities for educating California’s youngsters.
