Mexicos President Inaugurated Despite Opposition Party Protests
Tom Fudge : Last Friday, Mexico got a new President, Felipe Calderon of the PAN, which stands for National Action Party. But the circumstances of Calderon’s inauguration were far from ideal. He literally had to enter the halls of Congress through the back door to attend his inauguration. During the ceremony he suffered the jeers and catcalls of the opposition party as visiting dignitaries looked on. The inauguration was attended by Governor Schwarzenegger and former President Bush, to name a couple.
Calderon is viewed by the left as an illegitimate President who stole a close election. Can he govern under those circumstances?
