Tom Fudge: Two thousand and six was an interesting year for business and economic stories. We saw the prices of two precious goods, energy and housing, either fluctuate wildly or, in the case of housing, take a long-awaited downturn. The business plan of Hewlett Packard turned into a spy novel. That company’s CEO authorized a veritable witch hunt for leakers of corporate information.
