Dems Want Rove Questioned About Lam Dismissal

Congressional Democrats on Monday singled out presidential adviser Karl Rove for questioning about the firing of San Diego's U.S. Attorney Carol Lam and seven other federal prosecutors.

Congressional Democrats on Monday singled out presidential adviser Karl Rove for questioning about the firing of San Diego's U.S. Attorney Carol Lam and seven other federal prosecutors.

The demands to question Rove about whether the dismissals were politically motivated represents a shift in focus from the Justice Department to the White House.

Rove emerged as the Democrats' newest target after news reports said the New Mexico Republican Party's chairman urged Rove to fire that state's U.S. attorney.

The White House has said Rove was not involved in the firings.

Last week, Carol Lam testified before congress that although she was told she was fired for her failed performance, she had no prior warning.
