Earl Thomas Performs In Studio

Earl Thomas and members of Ike Turner's old band, Kings of Rhythm, performed on These Days this morning. Earl's voice will knock your socks off!  He sang a tune called "Soul Shine," an Ike Turner song called "Working Together," and the Mahalia Jackson gospel number "Elijah Rock."

Check out the video below and then go see Earl perform live on Sunday night in what is sure to be an inspiring show at The Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach. It's a benefit show for the North County Food Bank - one ticket will provide 37 meals!

Thanks to KPBS for the graciousness in promoting a great community helper such as this concert. Being hungry sucks and I would say to anyone coming to the show, maybe even think about bringing a can of food and we take up a little collection for those who need a little help. We will do you a good show. "Working Together" 13612 Bill Ray

The energy in that room is sublime. The percussion is ingenious. That piano player is a hepcat if ever there was.

I guess I got a bit ahead of myself when I originally posted. I meant to say "Bring an extra can of food so as to go the extra mile" or something like that. The organizers of this gig have done a stellar job of putting it on. Just a thought....

Great to here Earl Thomas. We played together a coble of gigs. I might be one of those he remembers when he see me. :-), I wish him all the best becouse the soul and blues he`s got should be well known all over this world. And I no that he loved Mr. Ike Turner`s playing. All the best Dan Klarskov, Living Blues from Denmark.
